November 22 At Bread And Yoga

Since I can remember, I have always been interested in working with women.

This passion of mine has led me through numerous paths in life, among them: dance, yoga, anatomy, embryology and, for the last year-and-a-half, birth work.

This past September, I celebrated the anniversary of my first birth as a doula...12 months and 26 births...it's been one busy and wonderful year!

The circumstances surrounding each of these births were quite unique, yet one common thread that connects and brings them all together is that in all of them the birthing mother used several strategies and comfort measures to help her cope with, welcome, and embrace the birthing process. On Saturday, November 22, I will be teaching about this topic at Bread & Yoga in Inwood.

In COMFORT MEASURES FOR LABOR AND BIRTH, I plan to share with you those approaches which I have seen work and those which haven't. My goal for you and your birth partner is to have, after our hands-on practice, a bag full of ideas and techniques that you can draw from during labor as well as the weeks leading up to it.

Whether you are planning on having a medicated or unmedicated birth, giving birth at home or at the hospital, I promise you will find the information relevant, practical and, above all, useful.
