Labor, Breastfeeding & Postpartum Support

 

Labor Support

  • Two prenatal meetings to discuss your birthing preferences, practice strategies for labor, review breastfeeding basics and consider potential postpartum needs.
  • Unlimited phone, text and email contact throughout your pregnancy and postpartum period.
  • On-call time from week 38 of your pregnancy until the birth of your baby.
  • Continuous labor support, meeting you at your home, birthing center or hospital depending on your preferences.
  • Help with breastfeeding initiation and other immediate postpartum needs up to two hours after birth.
  • One postpartum visit within 3-10 days of the birth to review the birth experience, answer questions and provide referrals as needed.

 

Labor + Breastfeeding Support

Everything that is included in the Labor Support package plus:

  • One 2-hour breastfeeding counseling visit at your home or birthing location within 24-36 hours of the birth of your baby to help get breastfeeding off to a good start. Services include assessing the breastfeeding dyad, going over breastfeeding positions, practicing latching skills, troubleshooting any barriers to the breastfeeding relationship and ruling out the need for specialty care.

 

Labor + Postpartum Support

Everything that is included in the Labor Support package plus:

  • Two 3-hour home visits to facilitate a smooth postpartum transition. Services are tailored to the specific needs of the family and can include assistance with postpartum recovery (e.g., processing your birth experience, caring for the baby while you shower, eat or nap), infant care (e.g. bathing, soothing techniques, umbilical cord care) and household tasks (e.g., running errands, light cleaning, meal preparation).
